Bruce Quaglia

Bruce Quaglia is a composer and scholar whose research primarily concerns music of the 20th Century. He has published and presented work on the music of Arnold Schoenberg, Igor Stravinsky, Luciano Berio, Luigi Nono and other twelve-tone American composers such as Robert Morris, Donald Martino and Charles Wuorinen. He has taught music theory at the University of Minnesota, Utah Valley University, the University of Utah and other colleges and universities. His publications have appeared in Music Theory Spectrum, Music Theory Online, Perspectives of New Music, and as part of edited collections from Oxford University Press, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, and Ashgate Publishing. His music has been performed internationally, including commissions for pianist Jason Hardink, clarinetists Matthew Nelson, Arianna Tieghi, and a recent chamber concerto for viola, piano, thirteen winds and two percussion players written for the NOVA chamber music series. His music appears on both the Centaur and Soundset labels.
