Jim ʻMondongoʼ Messbauer is a trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator, with early studies in NYC and Boston. He was invited in 1983 to play in the band La Fuente in Boston. He has played for many years with Humano, Rice & Beans, Edwin Pabon, Frankie Rodriguez and many others. A founding member of Kilombo Mambo, Groupo Mambique, Mondongoʼs Combo, Tanga Charanga, and Tubaton, he is also currently an award-winning low brass instructor at the Community Music School in Springfield, MA.
