Joshua Gordon (Brandeis faculty, Smith parent)

Joshua Gordon joined the Lydian String Quartet and Brandeis University music faculty in 2002. He is a member of the Worcester Chamber Music Society and resident cellist for the Composers Conference. He has been a guest of the Apple Hill, Cassatt, DaPonte, Juilliard, and Ying Quartets, Boston Chamber Music Society, Chameleon Arts Ensemble, The Group For Contemporary Music, Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, Lighthouse Chamber Players, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Portland Chamber Music Festival, and Rockport Chamber Music Festival. His critically acclaimed New World release with Randall Hodgkinson, Leo Ornstein: Complete Works For Cello and Piano, was named a top 10 classical recording of 2007 by the All Music Guide. He plays on Lydian recordings of works by Beethoven (the late quartets), Martin Boykan, Yu-Hui Chang, Mohammed Fairouz, John Harbison, Vincent Persichetti, and Kurt Rohde. He is also featured on chamber and solo recordings from Albany Records, CRI, Naxos, and Tzadik.
