Thomas is currently Principal Trumpet with the Springfield Symphony and Director of Music at Deerfield Academy. Prior to his appointment at Deerfield, Thomas held teaching positions at Williams, Bennington, and Amherst Colleges, Tufts, Yale, and the Brimmer and May School. Thomas is a former member of Carnegie Hall’s resident Ensemble Connect and the Atlantic Brass Quintet. He has performed with T-Pain, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Vampire Weekend, Gabriel Kahane, The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Deep Purple, The American Symphony, Idina Menzel, Judy Collins, Arlo Guthrie, and the Radio City Christmas Orchestra, and numerous Broadway shows. Television appearances include Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and CBS This Morning. He holds two advanced degrees from the Yale School of Music and a Business Management degree from the Isenberg School at UMass Amherst.
